Fall again, and my wife and I drifted down to our local pharmacy and got flu, COVID, and pneumonia vaxxed today. Got the shingles Vax earlier in the summer and will get the second shot in 30 more days.

For those of you who haven't had shingles, I'd suggest you avoid them. Got shingles earlier this year that started under an eyelid and went up onto my bald head in a slanted line. Truly annoying!

Yeah, shingles sucks. I got the shingrix a couple years ago. First dose kicked my butt - body aches, fever, lethargy. Second was a piece of cake.

I get the flu shot every October. Had pneumonia shot years back. Might be time for another even though I was told back then that it was good for life. Not sure I'll get another dose of the Covid vax, though. While (obviously) not an antivaxxer, I do have some misgivings about that one.

I'm just curious... do you happen to know the name of the vaccines?
Did you get all three injections at the same time?

Thank you.

Nope; the pharmacy uses the (voluntary) state vaccine registry to make sure you're getting consistent brands. And yes, I got all 3, one at a time. That's how we've done these shots for a few years now.

Added: I forgot my shot card when going a-contracting overseas, so they gave me nine (yup, 9) vaccines in one sitting. Surprisingly had no ill aftereffects and have never worried about more than one at a time since.

You had a choice if you didn't have proof of vaccination (the yellow 'shot card') - get'em all or go home. That was the old DynCorp, aka the 'Evil Empire,' which has been folded into (finally) today's Amentum.

I got 5 in my right shoulder and my fingers started to twitch, so the nurse moved to the left for the last 4.

My choice would be a no-brainer! .... Sorry DynCorp. :giggle:

You either want the job or you don't! You also don't want to catch some of the weird diseases they had in the deployment region.

I'm just glad I still had my smallpox vax scar or I'd have had another of those.
I'm old and crotchety and would rather get mauled by a mama grizzly bear than have to get a vaccine. :)

At the time (2012/2013) I was a mere youth of 58, and after over 30 years of lower-wage jobs (policing and teaching), contracting was going to be the last chance to make really good money for a while. Besides, it was a real adventure, complete with travel! 😀

Last time I got anything injected was around 2002 right before I retired Air Force in 2003.

Despite the billion dollar propaganda machine, I declined the c19 vax and kept my DoD job.
