Granddaughter's Mule Deer Buck

Seventeen-year-old Raegan called to tell me that she got her buck early this morning. She got her last two bucks using my old .243. This year, she opted to take my .30-06 that I'd given her dad years ago. She's no bigger than a minute...maybe 5'2", but she handled the '06 like a champ, dropping the buck at 125 yards.

Nothing like a good teacher, a little practice and a nice
Ruger with a Leo on top, to edge the bet a little !!

Great rifle, I have a old bull barrel in 22-250 for "Little things " and
a fun day at the range, but did take one Nevada Mule buck, one time
when out looking for "Yotes", with a 60 gr Nosler Partition.

Always nice to see the youngsters picking up the hunting skills, so we can
sit back, if needed and still enjoy some "Field meat", now and then.

Great to add another hunter to the camp fire.
