Grandson got his bear!!

Every so often, and on every hunting/shooting forum, some wag will do a thread titled: Is the ?????????? caliber dead or dying, or obsolete, or is it gonna be replaced by the 12 gauge belted magnum?????

The short answer is no. Next question?

Have a blessed day,

Leon

That is a very nice bear your grandson shot. I am surprised at how nice the hide looks. I was half expecting to see it rubbed a bit.
When my youngest daughter was in her 20's she got a wild hair to shoot a bear. She had some friends who hunted bear every spring and they invited her to go along.
First day out she shot a 6' square cinnamon phase with the Ruger M77 30-06 her grandpa had gifted to her when his big game days were over.
Dad was proud of her and Granda beamed like headlight when he saw the pictures of her with the bear and his old gun.
Thanks Mule Packer for bringing back that memory for me.

My dad said "all the guns a man needs are a .22 and '06 bolt rifle, a 12 gauge pump and a Model 10 Smith. But don't tell your mother I said that."

I love this quote. I'm gonna borrow it and put it on my phone. If my Dad had not died as a young man (49), he might have told me that.

Have a blessed day,

Leon
