I got my stocks today from Patrick Grashorn .They are a beutiful set of American Elk grip panels they are the Magnus styl and fit my revolver perfectly .I just wanted to say thank you to all who helped educate me on my early 1920s k frame 32/20 revolver . These stocks set the nickel off perfectly and just as soon as I can I will post up some pictures but this is my first wow gun and I have a spring set on the way now I am looking at holsters .You guys led me right with Patrick Grashorn as the service I received and the craftsmanship of the product is worth twice what he charges so if any of you guys know a great holster maker who does period holsters for these revolvers post it for me .Thak you guys so much and thank you for turning me on to Patrick as I couldn't be more pleased ,you guys ate tne best .

While Sambar Stag is what I've grown up on, I can't really say the those aren't quite beautiful! Being that Sambar is very difficult to acquire and very pricey when yo do...... you did good!

If I might, just a suggestion on the next set of stag grips you get, I'd bevel the edges along the base of the grip a bit. This does a few things......

* keeps them from chipping

* keeps them from snagging

* looks purdy and finishes them off nicely

Just my .02 cents and YMMV.

Patrick does beautiful work. He made me a pair of bone (no bark) service grips with medallions that I have on a model 64 no dash paired with a silver Tyler. Old school to the max, plus very comfortable to shoot!

Did someone say Sambar Stag? Love me some SS! These really need to be fitted better but I'm afraid of taking away the patina. They have a nice swell in the center of each grip feeling the hand nicely.

Well, this thread has given me the flimsy excuse I need to trot out this old photo of a K-38 that I found at a gun show about 10 years ago. It was mismarked on the tag as a Model 15 and was sold to me by a badly informed FFL dealer for about $300. It had a pair of Pachmayrs on it which did nothing to enhance the appearance of this neglected revolver.

I brought it home, cleaned it up, threw the rubbers in the trash and ordered a pair of Grashorn stocks with medallions. That K-38 is now my shooter K-38. And it shoots great.

Here it is in a Lawrence holster which I think was supplied by my pal Turnerriver.

I have been back to Mr. Grashorn for several pairs of stag stocks since then and have always marveled at the beauty and craftsmanship his work displays.
