I have a fairly extensive firearms reference library in my house. When I moved here 16 years ago, I had steel shelves already assembled for keeping the boxes of firearms magazines in an organized manner.

Today I decided to box up a lot of the recently acquired magazines. As I took boxes off the shelves, I concluded that gravity must have increased, because the boxes of magazines were certainly heavier than when I moved here 16 years ago.

As part of my estate, I am leaving my firearms library to my honorary nephew, the firearms law attorney. If this trend keeps up, when my executor puts my firearms library into the truck, my honorary nephew will see a truck coming with its body riding on the axles.

Sounds like he will have a lot of heavy reading to do.:D

Its not just gravity, but climate change is an impact as well. It must be warmer now, since the snow is getting less and less. When I was a really little kid helping my Dad shovel, the snow went all the way up to my neck. Today, even at the worst storm it barely meets my knees.

As a result of surgery and other restrictions since June, I have been far less active than I prefer and have lost a lot of conditioning. It is very frustrating and at y age, recovery is very slow.

I am with you in spirit, my friend. This winter started acceptably for me, but the last six-weeks have been… unbelievably "non-productive." I am disgusted, to put it mildly. FIGHT YOUR WAY BACK! As Jeff Cooper once admonished when I found myself at a different one of life's low-points, "Stout heart and good cheer! Steady on!" ;)

I am probably in a similar boat. My brother had commented about how I seemed to be sucking wind going up and down the stairs at his house, and that probably I wasn't getting as much exercise as I did before, probably as a result of joint pain. My brother was right as to my diminished physical activity, but I think it came about for a different reason. With my cardiac issues, because of the cold I haven't gone out to walk as much as I'd like and should. When it's below freezing I don't like to spend much time outside because the cold can get hard on me.
