My 9mm shield is acting up...

...Full mag, one in the chamber, aim and shoot.

Shoots fine. Try to shoot again... nothing.

Try to rack the slide... its stuck.

Notice that slide is not fully forward...

Bump it hard with my hand...slide goes forward... shoots fine and the same thing happens every time,

Tried JHP and FMJ, same thing...

How well lubed is it? A decent quality semi-auto (pistol or rifle) should easily go 1500 rounds without cleaning a long as it is properly lubed. What ammo brand?

Sure sounds like ammo/chamber problem. Been shooting any steel case ammo? It can leave a sticky residue in the chamber. Clean chamber very well, steel wool wrapped around a brush and spun with a drill.
Yup dirty chamber. Silly me.

Mine wasn't a dirty chamber.
First time out it did exactly what the OP's did.
Sent it back to S&W. They said that they polished and "Reworked" the barrel.
So far it's been 100% since it's returned.
Pics are from the failures.
Also, didn't have pics, but the slide would not go fully forward when it would cycle next round. ecc0d5d7-6421-4c61-b113-ebabb268003d-1_all_20177.webpecc0d5d7-6421-4c61-b113-ebabb268003d-1_all_20175.webp

Tried to shoot it again today.
Shot two rounds then nothing.

Fresh round hung up in the chamber..wont fully seat unless I hit the slide with my hand.

Slide wont eject round unless I force it.

The case is getting stuck at the very base of the chamber

I cleaned the chamber and even scraped around the shoulder/base with a pick.

Caint see any debris at all.

I'm thinking a chamber finish reamer at this point?

Just to give you something else to look for that has popped up in the past. The slide stop spring that is located in the left side of the locking block can work its way out and impinge on the slide.
The link is how to check and address this issue.

Below is an 8-year old post that may help you. On a few Shields, the end of the slide stop spring pops out of position from where it's supposed to be seated in the locking block. This can prevent the slide from moving forward. The attached post below has a photo of a normal spring position and an unseated "popped out" spring position.

Whats the round count of the pistol? Have you tried the plunk test with said ammo that's malfunctioning?
Is a new recoil spring in order? I love answering a question with questions LOL
