Just bought a new M&P Shield 9mm and went out today on a day off to shoot it. Very pleased. Very Very pleased.
Ran 100 rounds of Remington UMC 115 grain target points and then 50 rounds of Winchester 115 grain target loads through it with zero function issues.

Followed that up with 25 rounds of Hornady 115 grain XTP American Gunner loads without any issues. XTP loads were obviously a little hotter. Check the target face from the XTP rounds, it speaks for itself.

Love the ease in operation of the Shield. After shooting, easy to field strip and clean. Will be shooting this one a lot. Very easily could be my favorite pistol of all time. Thanks Smith and Wesson!

Welcome to the forum. It's nice to see new members who will praise their new firearm rather than bash about it. I own the Shield and I love it. My friend was about to buy a glock, I quickly took him and his wife to the range to shoot my FS 9, 9c and my shield. That same day they bought a shield. Nice shooting on your target, it looks like you may slightly be anticipating the recoil. I say that because of the shots a little low off center. Unless you were going for that same area. Either way, target neutralized.

I own both a Shield 9 & 40 love them both although I carry the 40 daily. Either one is a great choice for CC and the 9 is hard to keep in stock down in this part of Texas.

I have a 9mm shield with a apex trigger and an XS big dot front. Super fast on target. Follow up shots a breeze.

This is what I love about the Shield. While it's not meant to be a 'Range Gun' for all day shooting, unlike most (if not all) the other subcompacts, that are 'Shoot a little, but carry a lot' pistols, the Shield is definitely tame enough to be used as a range gun, should you want to... And many times, I do. :)

Welcome and Congrats!

Welcome aboard and I felt exactly like you did 1st time out with my shield, man what a sweet shooting, good feeling pistol !

I have a 9mm. I enjoyed shooting more than anything else I own. I find it accurate and fast on target from contact to 25+ yards.

I have a 9mm shield as well, an early model & it's a fantastic gun & my wife's favorite 9mm. Congrats!:D

I definitely am glad I ended up with my shield after wanting a glock 19 for years. Best decision I made for an EDC. Glad you feel the same way!

Welcome and congrats on the new Shield. Keep shootin', have fun and be safe.

Congratulations, you've got a great little gun. The Shield is surprisingly easy to carry and a good weapon should, God forbid, you ever need it. CC guns are all about compromises, and I really think S&W hit the sweet spot with the Shield.

Took my new Shield .40 out to the range today. I too had a very positive first outing. 170 malfunction free rounds down the pipe (wwb, umc, and ppu). Grouping wasn't super tight, but I was focusing more on function test and break in. Happy shooting!
