Hello! Just bought my first S&W, a M&P 9mm Shield. I was torn between the Springfield XDs, Glock 43, and the Shield. I have a buddy that is a Glock fanboy and he was talking up the G43 like it was gods gift to man. I'm lucky and have a Cabelas about two miles from my house. I went in, got to handle all three, and was amazed at how well the Shield felt in my hand. They were also running a Father's Day special on the Shield that put it at $150 less than the G43. I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase! I've already put 50 rounds through it at the range, and man, does it fire nice. The price, ergonomics, reviews, and the fact it has a safety (one of the other main reasons I didn't go with the Glock) made it a no brainier! Before you jump on me for wanting a safety on my CCW, I have two small children and another on the way. It will always be kept in the safe when not on my person, but the peace of mind knowing that it's there helps. Anyway, sorry for the long intro, if you can't tell, I'm really excited about my new Shield! And yes, pics or it didn't happen!
