Hello folks. I stumbled upon this site and decided to come inside and have a look around. As you can see, I hail from north of the 49th. While I have a fondness for Smith wheelguns, I also have the misfortune of living in a country that views a 4" Model 19 as a cheap "Saturday night special"; fit only for the blast furnace. However, I am still able to shoot mine...for now...so I figured I would see what other Smith fans are up to and learn what I can about Smith and Wesson(s) in general.

Man, that's NORTH!!

Welcome!
Well, not as far north as most would think...if you find Mackinac Island in Michigan and just go a couple of hours east, you'll hit smack dab middle northern Ontario...it surprised me to realize that too. But, hey Tennessee...if it's as cold as it is up here, I can only imagine how hot it is down there!:D Oh, and thanks for the welcome, all!

Welcome from Texas Last of the Mohicans. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

I'm envious. Especially since the time I walked into the Cabelas in Dundee and they had a sign that essentially welcomed CCW holders.

Last time I was there I did have a S&W Model 37 in my pocket and that is a great thing about living in the states as we're allowed to defend ourselves, actually it's a right.
We moved 200 miles east and a little north from Brantford, Ontario many years ago.
Welcome to the board and you'll enjoy the knowledge and good pictures of nice S&Ws here.

It's been a while since I've been down that way. I went to school at the University of Western Ontario way back before I could ever envision myself as being middle-aged! We used to shoot IPSC through the university rifle and pistol club with any other club/team/shooting organization in southern Ontario...we even shot bullseye against RMC. Alas, the university club is no more. It has long since fallen victim to the anti-gun, knee-jerk political backlash that gave us the Firearms Act back in the 90's.

I was in Midland, Ontario last fall for my son's wedding. How far are you from Midland?

Holy cow!! It certainly is a small world. I'm from Midland! Now, however, I currently live and work 3 hours north in Sudbury...which is only a couple of hours east of Mackinac.

I hope you enjoyed your stay in Midland, as it is a beautiful little town with lots of history...and in autumn, if you drive around on the rural roads, there are some amazing fall colours. If you're ever there again, and it is summer, you'll have to eat on the waterfront deck at Scully's Crabshack. Wow...small world indeed!

EDIT: It gets even smaller when you consider that there is a possibility that your son and either myself or other members of my family there, or my friends in Midland may know some of the same people.
