I've dabbled with guns over the last twenty years... more as a novelty, rather than a hobby or enthusiast. I owned a 22 rifle, but most of my shooting happened with my brother's guns while visiting him. I finally made the plunge last December and bought a Walther PPS M1 (classic). It was a great entry level gun for me, but it could only take me so far.

I knew I wanted something more substantial and started researching heavily a couple weeks ago. After about 25 hours of reading reviews and watching youtube videos, I decided on the M&P 9L Performance Center pistol. It just seemed like the best bang (pun intended:D) for my buck, and it was at the price point I was willing to pay for my 2nd handgun purchase. I should have it in hand Friday or next Tuesday, at the latest.

I would classify myself as a newbie, as i'm sure others would also. Looking forward to learning, and hopefully contributing as time goes forward.

I'll be visiting several local ranges and plan on becoming a member at one of them.

Thanks for your patience ahead of time.

Welcome from Wisconsin!

Do you plan on carrying for self defense at some point? Might just as well get a CC license to go with your firearms.

Hello, MSG. That is something I intend on pursuing, but I want to get my feet wet a little more before proceeding.

Welcome to the forum. We love photos. So spend some time learning how to post photos so you can show us your growing collection and keep us up to date on the range reports.

:D

thanks. I had planned to post pictures of my new baby when I get it tomorrow or tuesday. Hopefully, it won't be much of a learning curve on how to post them, as it won't be the first time I've posted a picture in a forum.
