Howdy-Greetings from Laredo Texas Gateway to(and more often now from) Mexico. Laredo was founded in 1755 -unlike the rest of Texas which had Six flags fly over it -this place had a Seventh-the short lived Republic of the Rio Grande-the folks that settled this place and lived in it before Air conditioned Splendor sure must have been sturdy and tough as the temps hit and maintain triple digits-little or no water and everything that is called vegitation with thorns on it -and yes there are drug cartels that run the sister City of Nuevo Laredo-really wish this place even resembled the City I grew up in in the '50's and 60's- a sleepy border town. I am not exactly enthralled with this place and if anyone even has a hint that one likes Guns-one is sure to be burglarized- so I can speak about my passion here-gunz-and not exactly have to worry about having my place -modest as it is hit by crooks-of which there are many in this place-ah-Laredo-once you drink the water from the Rio Grande you always return. This place is and for centuries has been unto its own-not Mexico-Not the United States -just sort of a no man's land. One has only to cross the Nueces River to the north and continue to the Rio Grande to see the distinct nature of the Republic of the Rio Grande. I truly look forward to Talking Smiths with people in the know who can teach me much
