Have a stainless 686 revolver, (number AJF2067 on the butt of the frame) which has an aftermarket grip on it. Best source for finding a standard, wooden grip to convert it back to "stock"?

Thanks,

Check the classifieds on this very forum. Not uncommon for proper vintage items to show up (early 80s according to your serial #, with the speed loader cut).

Is it round or square? I think they came both ways didn't they?
I bought mine when they first came out SN AAK and they were square only but I seem to remember they came out with a round butt version? Maybe I'm just senile.

A 2.5 or 3" 686 of this era will be RB, and a 4" or longer will be SB. Proper Goncalo Alves Target stocks will be $50-100.

+1 for Ahrends

Ahrends retro combats on the 686 in bottom of the photo. Factory magnas on the 66 in the top of the photo. Both stocks fit the L frame 686 although the retros are much more comfortable for shooting than the factory magnas. the T grip helps the magnas but I still prefer the Ahrends

The factory combats are pretty, bottom of the photo, but they don't fit my hand like the Ahrends.
