I am trying to find a grip maker for a possible project. I would like to get a set of grips made out of Resin Ivory S, for a 21- 4.

Resin Ivory S is a interesting ivory substitute looks like the real deal.

Resin-Ivory+S™ SAA Gun Grip Panels

I have a set of premade 1911 grips and they are first rate.

Any leads or direction appreciated.

Thanks!

"Keep us updated if John can do it or you find someone else... that Resin-Ivory+S™ looks really interesting, I wouldn't mind having a set made too"

Thank you Sir, will do!

I have seen some Colt SAA grips made up of the resin ivory s and it looks a lot like the real stuff very authentic- the material is not slippery its somewhat 'grippy'. The Resin Ivory S 1911 grips I have fooled a local gunsmith- he thought it was the real thing.

The material does not yellow though, as far as I know- that is a possible downside about it.

Talk to Bob Leskovec at Precision Pro grips. I know he works with the resin stuff and he does great work. I've had him do a couple sets of Micarta for me and I have been impressed.

Just an FYI; those Resin Ivory-S grips do/are 'yellowed'. Here is a pair that I made for a 1911 from Resin Ivory-S at guitarpartsandmore.com. When I purchased them, I assumed that they would be very WHITE.... nope. Also, I find that resin is a LOT easier to work with, and shape, than wood (maybe because I don't possess the real skills needed).

FYI I sent Culina grips a email asking about getting the Resin Ivory S grips made- got a generic email back stating that they are working on back orders and are not taking new orders at this time "check back in two weeks."
