I was just given a set of sw wood grips by a friend of mine. They have the sw medallion on the side but they are shaped funny. They are about 1 inch longer than the factory grips and the bottom of the grips cover the serial number. They do not have finger grooves, and they have checkering like the standard grips, and they are slightly curved at the back.

What are these grips called and what did they come on originally.

They have 6 82 on the inside of the grips and w L10 20 inside a circle as well. How old are these grips?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Round butt targets, but they're lovingly called banana grips too. 6 82 is a date (I think). Here's a smooth set of J frames on the right and a set of K frame on the left.

They also made J frame square butt targets that work with round or square butt guns. These also came checkered or smooth.
