Grip Thoughts

Looking at buying a different grip for my rifle. I am looking at Hogue grips. Y'all like the OverMolded Pistol grips with or without the Beaver Tail? I cannot decide which one I'll like more. Since the factory has no Beaver Tail, and my Desert Eagle 1911C does, I am leaning more towards one with a Beaver Tail. Thoughts?

I use the non-finger groove model with beaver tail. Pushes web of hand away from the trigger to give me little more room.

Just personal preference...

I have the Hogue without beavertail (for the aesthetic of the beavertail not fitting flush?)with finger grooves and storage compartment. It feels really nice in the hand and provides a comfortable grip.

For me it was a choice between that or the BCM as mentioned above, only chose the Hogue as I had actually felt one, still intrigued about the BCM

I have an ATI Scorpion on mine. Have tried the Magpul as it came fitted, also had the A2 style in my hands previous. Also have Hogue fitted on other rifles with storage and finger grooves.

I like the ATI on my Smith, love the Hogue on others. Not a fan of the A2 grip, will likely stick the Magpul back on at some point just because I can....

But not yet.

I have the Hogue beavertail on both of my AR's. CDNN has black and FDE for $9.99 right now and I got one for my cousin's 15-22, but with their shipping, it would only make sense if you were buying some other stuff there at the same time (mags, etc.)

I have the grooved Hogue (no tail) as well on my 15-22. It's very comfortable. My only complaint is that the storage compartment door is hard to open with bare fingers. I have to poke something small & pointy to pry the "door" out. I put a Mission First Tactical grooved grip on my full size AR, and that storage compartment opens very easy.

I found a coin that fits in the slot, pop the coin in and push to one side and viola....you are right though, it would be nigh on impossible to open without a tool

The Hogue is overmolded rubber...while not 'cushioned' it feels really nice.

When I look at the Hogue grips online they do not show/mention a storage compartment. Is that something separate?

Different versions...slighty different cost. One without, one with storage and one version that has a survival kit inside...the one with has storage rig for small parts AA batteries and CR302 disc batteries....it is hard to open unless you have a tool/coin or as it is designed for an AR - a .223 casing which is designed to fit right in the holes at the bottom. A coin works best if you don't.

If one replaces the buttstock with the Hogue what is recommended for a swivel? Any preferences on slings?
