Hello everyone.
I recently purchased a S & W 686 6 "revolver and I discovered that can´t shoot well with the grip because my hands are big (not like a bear but big enough).
Could someone recommend me a grip a bit larger than normal to support the 357 loads?.
Thank you all.

Hi, Sounds like what you need is a round butt to square butt conversion grip. Ahrends, hogue and other makers produce these. I say go to E-bay and find you a cheap pair and see if you like them first. You might just want something thicker for your paslms to grip onto. But I say try the conversion grip first.

If you are looking for something presentation quality, Hogue makes nice harwood grips including oversize grips with extended butt caps that fit really big hands like mine. Mine looks like this,

They make several different sizes and styles of different exotic hardwoods, checkered and non-checkered. Take a look at them here if interested www.getgrip.com

RevolverKing beat me to it. The 500 Magnum grip in his link is ideal for the 686 round butt. It's what I have on my 620 and it makes shooting 357 Magnums a peasure.

Unlike the standard Hogue Combat that the 686 and 620 come with from the factory. That grip is so small that it took me only 3 cylinders of 357 Magnums to get me shopping for a larger grip, it's just too small and made good control of the recoil quite difficult and started to raise some blisters.

Another inexpensive option is the Pachmayr Decelerator grip in the round to square conversion. However, it is nearly identical in profile to the Hogue 500 monogrip and requires removal of the mounting clip on the frame. So, despite having both, I have kept the Hogue grip on my 620 so that I can quickly swap the standard grip onto the gun for shooters with smaller hands.

If it's rubber you're looking for nothing beats Hogues or Pachmayrs. If you want round-square wood conversion grips there are a number of possibilities. I put Nils on my 686-6. They emulate the old S & W square butt coke grips and are just wonderful, but they cost north of $200 and I sometimes wonder if I got a bit carried away on that deal. I just bought some N-Frame square butt "cokes" from forum member Kurac and, I swear, they are the nicest grips that I have. Two seconds after I put them on my 27 I regretted spending all that money on the Nils. I don't know whether he makes round-square conversions but, you might ask.
