Wanting to upgrade my grip. Looking for something that's not hard but more like firm rubber, something with a little give to it. Any recommendations?

Hogue is the only way to go! I have one on all my AR's and AK's.

It's the FIRST upgrade I do anytime I buy an AR or AK.

I like Ergo as it moves the web of the hand back a bit giving a better contact with the trigger. Be aware Ergo has several versions. Some are hard and large. I prefer the original style without the thumb ridges and the softer feel. The Ergo also supports the springs at the bottom of the receiver.

I just wrapped mine with a tennis overgrip. It absorbs the sweat and has a nice tackyness feeling to it.

I have a Hogue grip, and it feels good. But I think the finger grooves are a little deep on that grip, which is a good thing so you grip the rifle perfectly every time. But the look of the Hogue grip on the 15-22 looks a little small or skinny, especially compared to the MOE grip that I pulled off of the rifle.

I'm liking the look of the Ergo grip where the finger grooves are not so much protruding outwards, and there's a beavertail on the grip like MOE grip. I may try to get one of those and see how it feels compared to my Hogue grip.

If the A2 grip fits you well, get the Hogue Overmold. If you want a larger grip, get the Falcon Industries Ergo

Do these grips just slip right over the original grip?

No. You have to remove the original grip using a 3/16" hex key. And be aware there are 2 small springs that will come out at the top of the grip. You will need to reinstall those.

I put the Hogue Overmold on mine yesterday. Very easy to do and much more comfortable.

also in addition to the springs there are pins under them which can fall out. best not to turn it over once the orig grip is off until the new one is on.
