So before I asked a dumb question I did some research and think that I know the answer, but just want a clarification. When the term "football grips" is used is that referring to the extractor relief on the top left grip panel that looks like a football? I also believe that the speed loader cut out is the half moon looking cut that extends down the grip toward the medallion and exposes more of the frame, as compared to the relief cut of the football style that doesn't expose more of the frame. Thanks for any answers, and please don't be shy about calling me a dumb azz....

Thanks! One of the reasons that I asked was because I did a search and in the top pic of this thread it mentions that "football grips would not have this cut out" and was confusing. Thanks again.

Speedloader cutout target stocks on my 686(upper), and football cutout target stocks on my 629(lower). Hope this helps.
