I recently acquired a nice 2" model 12 round butt from a fellow forum member (thanks) and would like to get a set of nice finger groove boot grips for it (wood). I tried a set that I had and was immediately reminded of the model 12's thinner frame. There is space between the grips and the frame. My question is, will I have to attack these with the dremell or can I find a set cut for the model 12's thinner frame?

While I am not saying that nobody ever made aftermarket grips for the thin-frame M&P Airweights, I will say I have never seen any.

Judicious use of a belt sander to thin a set from the inside or backside of each panel might work.

cwb - send me an email with your mailing address and I'll give you a pair of grips that I believe will fit the narrower 12 RD butt.
If you don't like them the way they are, you can modify them on your workbench

I agree with you,Lucky Derby, that is what i did to my Model 12(t-grip)

Does anybody have a set of model 12 Magnas (round butt) they wanna part with? I just got my model 12 snubbie back today (I was the "original" owner) and it could use a new set of grips. I already have a Tyler on it, and the grip panels are indeed model 12 panels (no gaps at the horns) but they are, as crazy and coincidental as it may be, mismatched.

I would prefer a set of diamond Magnas, but beggers can't be choosers.

Here is option that works great.
I have a model 12-3 that I was also looking for a set of factory grips and had no luck. I did find a nice pair of K frame R/B grips that I sanded down. I put a little "Tru-Oil" on the sanded side when I got them down to where they fit. They look and work great, you would never no they were not factory!!

That's good advice. However...I am EXTREMELY handy-man challenged. I would sho' 'nuff screw 'em up somehow.

Maybe I need to find a pair and send them off to VM to have 'em worked over. He does amazing things with S&W revolver grips.
