Y'all know how it is... new gun, new accessories. Like many of you, I've got the (big) box full of grips and holsters, etc.
So I'm on a quest for just the right set of grips (yes, I know they're 'stocks', but I'm a rebel) for my new 325TR. I've tried many different brands/configurations over the years on quite a few different revolvers and I've never really come up with 'the' perfect set.
I'm one of those weird people with small hands and skinny fingers, who actually prefers a more meaty grip. To give you an idea, the gun that has always felt the most natural in my hand is a Gen 2 Glock 20 with that big 'ol fat grip. Most revolver grips feel too small and just leave me feeling like I'm holding a broom handle.
The default revolver grip always seems to end up being the standard Hogue Monogrip style - even though it still feels small in my hand and they're ugly on most applications.
Because my hands are small, finger groves tend to not fit me right - usually my pinky rides directly on top of the bottom ridge if I grab and do a quick presentation from a holster.
My latest two sets are the VZ Grips 'tactical diamond' and an old-school set of Pachmayr Presentation grips. The VZ's are deceptively small compared to how they appeared in the pictures. They are comfortable but seem very small, especially on an N-Frame. The Pachmayr's fit me about the best of any I've ever tried - I think because they're some of the fattest - but they are ugly as sin, especially on a black gun.
I think the VZ's would be perfect if the circumference was about the same as the Pachmayrs. Or actually, a set identical in size/shape to the Pachmayr Presentation grip, made out of the Hyena Brown G10 material that the VZ's are would be ideal!
I'm not really even looking for suggestions - I've looked at and handled more than I can shake a stick at - I'm mostly just venting. LOL
These are just a few...
