I have a 3" K-38 square butt. This started life as a 6" gun, and was cut down to 3" I call it the & Wesson. I am looking for a set of smooth rosewood grips, or checkered grips that the points are not really sharp. I really like the feel of the target grips, but intend to carry this every so often as a CCW gun. I know there is a compromise between the size of the target grips, and what I am looking for. I am sort of round so need something that fills the hand, but doesn't stick out enough to imprint on a T-shirt.

I have gone back 6 pages in the Classifieds, and can't find it. Do you have a link?

Uncle Mikes used to make a nice boot grip for the SB k-frame, their part number 59011. Discontinued now, ,but you might be able to find one at a gun show or on ebay. I never handled a gun wearing them, but the UM boots are my favorite grips for my RB j-frames.
Another idea might be to modify the gun to a round butt configuration. This is/was a pretty common mod, enough so that Brownells offers a pattern for the mod, but a set of RB magnas could serve the same purpose. You'd not be "defacing" the gun since it's already been cut down to 3". Personally I prefer a round butt on a short barrelled revolver, so that's probably the way I'd go. Uncle Mikes made a nice RB k-frame boot also (#59014)..
