Hey guys and gals, Im trying to decide on a grip color to go with my 6.5" barrelled Nickel M29, as in what kind/shade of wood, not a laminate or any rubber. I was wondering if you all have some pictures or thoughts on what color looks best? Thanks for the help!!! Im at wits end trying to decide on a color. All input is greatly appreciated!!!

Ahrends in Moradillo.

mossyoakpenn, carelesslove, here !

If you search the Forum for a picture of member & gripmaker Kurac's "Coke-style" grips, in ebony (deep black, no grain), you will see what truly looks good on nickel.

Here is a set of kurac ebony grips shown on my blue 27-2 3.5 inch

Grasshorns....1/2 to 3/4 barked are the ones I like with nickel.

I second the ebony:

If my 29 was nickel this would look much better...

OK, go ahead and close the thread..............................Just kidding.

I do have a love for Grashorn Elk stag Stocks. Excellent stocks, excellent craftmanship, excellent price......what's not to love?

I like a dark set of grips on nickel revolvers, but the stags look great also. My only problem with them is they are hard on the hands when firing a heavy recoiling revolver.

Here's a pic on my 4" model 57 wearing presentation grips I bought through Ebay for $50.00. Have another pair exactly like them on my 27-2 and I think they look handsome also and the price was right.

Note: Cannot take a good picture to save my life. Grips and revolvers look much better in person.

To me, on a nickle gun, the darker the better. Just shows a greater contrast for both stocks and firearm.
