Grow up in the '60s? what was your fav TV "program?"

"Dr. Who".

(I lived in England from 60-61 and 64-68.)
It was on in Chicago on WTTW (public TV) in the late '60s or early '70s. They showed a couple of 1/2hr. episodes around 5:00 or 6:00pm, I think.

I think it went off eventually, then was back on WTTW in the early '80s when I got out of the Army. I think it was "Monty Python", then "Fawlty Towers", then "Dr. Who", all on Sunday nights.

Not all these were my favs. but just mulling them over brings back memories. Gunsmoke, Dragnet, Highway Patrol, Rat Patrol, Rawhide, Sky King, Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy, Superman, and all these were black and white; you had to really be rich to have color TV.

I grew up in the NYC area, so i don't know if these were nationwide, but everyday after school we would watch Officer Joe Bolton, who hosted 3 Stooges shows, then Soupy Sales.
At night, F Troop was a favorite. My folks and I would always watch Red Skelton's show and Dean Martin's show.
I've started watching Sanford and Son on cable again. That show is better written then alot of new stuff on the air.

My brain must be mush, so far there hasn't been a show mentioned that I didn't watch.....

Yep, remember "Coronet Blue" as the series that never got resolved. A guy with amnesia who's only clue to his identity was a match book with the words "Coronet Blue" on the cover. Great show while it lasted. My favorites were

1. The Twilight Zone
2. Thriller
3. Star Trek

I think it was in the '50s, but my favorite was "What in the World". They got a bunch of experts sitting around, and they'd show an artifact and let them try to figure out what it was. Those guys were brilliant! It was fun watching their minds work.

12 O'Clock High, the first season with Robert Lansing as Gen. Savage.
Disney, Have Gun Will Travel, Addams Family, Combat, The Gallant Men, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Huntley-Brinkley, and on Saturday Morning, 3 Stooges, The Little Rascals, and old Tarzan movies.

I was too busy running around to stay home to watch Guy Lombardo and Lawrence Welk with the folks in the 60s...

Andy Griffith, Gunsmoke, Red Skelton, Beverly Hillbillies, Dick Van Dyke, Petticoat Junction (Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo, Betty Jo), Jackie Gleason, and in SW Virginia or E. Tennessee "The Cas Walker Farm & Home Hour" every morning before school.

Six Million Dollar Man
Kung Fu
Flipper
Lost In Space
Rifleman
McHale's Navy
Mannix
Kojak
Black Sheep Squadron
F-Troop
Gilligan's Island

Saturday Morning Shows:
Shazam
Isis
HR Pufnstuf
The New Zoo Review
Villa Alegre

Thank you, all, for posting your favorites. I have been sitting here chuckling at all of the shows mentioned as I read every post and enjoying the memories of being glued to the tube. What about the cartoons, like the Roadrunner with Wile E. Coyote (the ultimate engineer but feckless hunter), Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester & Tweety?? I never missed Star Trek and have wagered more than two quatloos on [... fill in the scenario]. I Dream of Jeannie, Peticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies, Combat!, Gunsmoke, Batman, The Ed Sullivan Show, Laugh-in, Carol Burnett, The Jackie Gleason Show, The Honeymooners, Daktari, Wild Kingdom, ... *sigh*. All very entertaining.

Thanks, gang.

Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Those modify Walther P38 looks cool!

Another one I like is the "Untouchable" with Robert Stack.

Anyone remember " Garrisons Guerillas"?

Although late 50s, no one has mentioned Navy Log or You'll Never Get Rich (Phil Silvers as Sgt. Bilko), West Point, Rescue Eight, or 26 Men (true accounts of the Arizona Rangers), Sugarfoot, Cheyene, and Bronco Lane
