Guards with guns at work

One trueism is that IF an apartment complex realizes they have enough of a problem to need security gaurds, the problems are really so bad, they need off duty local LE .

I talked to a supervisor for the company that does security for the apartments I live in once. I asked what their armed pay was, she wanted to know why I asked and I told her our armed guys made 15.00 and I wanted to see if I could do better with them.

She looked at me like a starving dog at meat and told me I wasn't gonna get 15.00 bucks from her employer.

The guys that check our apartments are all unarmed and make about 10.50$ to work in a neighborhood where I won't walk out the door unarmed

Yeah, no doubt that's what he was doing. It just LOOKED like he was leaning against the wall texting with his friends.

I carry a work smart phone.

I clock in and out on it

It tracks me on my rounds

It has a watch clock app so that when I check an area I can use it to scan a barcode and my employer knows where I was and when I was there.

The access lists for the client are on it

I can fill out my reports on it and it syncs to my computer.

I can use it as a body cam

I can even use the phone

I'm not going to lie and say I don't waste time on my phone at work but I'm almost always on camera and they do review the tapes so if I do check my phone I wait till I'm in a room (Server rooms, com rooms, mechanical rooms) the client employees don't have access to.

There's a mechanical room in the building I work in that only Maintenance and security have access to that we kind of use as an unofficial break room.
