Hello Guys
Who out there makes the best tooled leather belt & holster for the money that would fit a Mod 19-3 revolver in 4"? I have looked at the Falco belt & holster and it does look fine but it also has a fine price of about a $1,000 plus tax & shipping. Is there anyone else who makes a quality product that is a little more affordable?
Thanks
Harold

Belt & Holster

Thank you for the information. I will take a look at their belts & holsters.
Thanks

It would help if we knew what you want in a rig and the price point you've set for yourself.

I looked at Falco and didn't see a $1K rig, so it's hard to recommend anyone at this point.

I like the tooling at Purdygear, but her price point would probably be out of your comfort zone. At least you could get some ideas of what you'd like to have a custom maker produce for you.

Kirkpatrick does a Texas BBQ Rig that is reasonably priced. You'd have to call them to see if they could make a rig for your S&W 4" K-frame.

I own a 4" 19-4 and can picture it in any number of rigs. Good luck with your search.

Retired for several years now, but I still have a preference. Current owners of Lobo Gun Leather are the Fedders family of Ely, Minnesota. Older son Matthew is a very talented (award winning) leather carver in the Sheridan floral style and does excellent tooling work as well.

I am very happy to have my little company continue in its 51st year under the Fedders' good stewardship. You will not find better quality or customer service.

A big fan of Kramer horsehide holsters....hard to improve on.

Randy
I've just ordered a Kramer scabbard and belt, for my Colt Three Fifty-Seven, and am looking forward to delivery sometime this summer. My only experience with Kramer to date is a pocket holster for a 640-1.

But, note, OP asks for recommendations for a "tooled leather belt & holster."

I don't think Kramer offers tooled. Also kinda curious if OP means carved when he says tooled. I assume so. Otherwise the adjective would be stamped, right?

But, perhaps I just confuse myself with the words. I think so.

Sure do love nice leather tho! Tooled, stamped, carved, boned... Plain! Quality leather work is beautiful in all its manifestations.

Black Hills Leather (Laredo, TX), Kirkpatrick Leather (Laredo, TX), El Paso Saddlery (El Paso) and Tucker & Byrd (Houston Metro area) each make high quality tooled leather belt & holster rigs.

Very informative post. To those who have used clip in iwb holsters do you prefer the clip mounted directly to the side of the holster or behind the gun? Some of the holster makers mentioned above have both options.

Thanks Guys for all the information. I will have to check out all the places you Guys mentioned. The falco price was on the custom gun leather drop down tab. The tooled leather holster is $399 & the matching tooled leather belt is $599. so with tax & shipping over a grand. Now as to what I am looking for: I now have a TT gunleather OWB Scabbard holster with a Kore black leather belt with the Texas Star buckle in black for my 3" Python which I like but it's not tooled leather. What I would like to get is a belt & holster in brown tooled leather kind of old time tooled leather style for my 4" Mod 19-3. Maybe not full old west style but not modern style either. i am not sure if I explained what I am after very well! As to price I wouldn't want to spend a grand but I would spend a bit to get something cool. In the end I might step up and get the falco rig but that depends on what I find and the prices of the places you suggested.
Thanks Guys
Harold

Cochise Gun Leather

Well now, check out Cochise Leather if you're looking for an old west style rig at a reasonable price tag.

Hello
I took a look at Cochise Gun Leather and El Paso Saddlery. They do really nice work at fair prices. I will look at all of the places suggested and pick something but so far Cochise looks like an outstanding pick.
Thanks
Harold
