hello all,
I picked up a model 629 this evening and am having a very difficult time identifying it. Its a model 629-1 with a 5" inch barrel, partridge front sight, the whole gun is bead blasted finish, but there are NO marking on the barrel! No smith and Wesson, no 44 magnum. the barrel is completely bare. it also has an un-fluted cylinder. it had SW medallion combat wood grips on it. I originally thought it was a classic hunter, but then, after buying it, then I noticed the oddities such as it being 5 inch (which they didn't make a 5 inch classic hunter) and the fact that it has no barrel markings, but appears to be a SW Barrel. the model number is AWA7763 and it is a 629-1. any help identifying what it actually is (SW Custom shop etc) and what the value would be on this gun would be appreciated. It is in 99% condition from what I can tell.
