Gun In Opening Scene of 'Return To Dodge'

The opening scene of 'Return To Dodge' showed a guy with a gun that he slid the barrel forward, turned it a 1/4 turn and the cylinder slid forward apparently to unload and load it. Anyone know what it is? It had the basic profile of an early break open Smith. Any ideas?

I believe it was a Merwin, Hulbert & Company revolver.
