I have been looking for a gun inventory program to keep track of my guns. Hopefully a FREE program but all of them I have seen are limit 10 guns. I am looking for something around 30.

Any suggestions.

ATF form p-3312 and a pen or pencil. You can scan them onto your computer and then jump drive or whatever.

You can Goggle Fu it also

The limit on guns is how they suck you into the paid version. I've been using an ap called Gun Safe. I think I paid a couple dollars for it, but I really like it.

I'm going to make an Excel spread sheet that mimics the paper version listed above. Want a copy?

scroll down to the bottom of this thread and there are several previous threads on this.

I tried the My Gun DB free version, it works but to "busy" for me. To many mouse clicks to fill out one gun.

It's OK and works and the pay version is not that expensive.

I use an Excel spread sheet with the following column headings.

Acquisition date
Manufacturer
Model #/Name
Serial Number
Caliber/Gauge
Accessories
Purchased From Name
Address,
City, ST, ZIP
4473 (Y/N)
$ Paid
Insurance Value
Date Added to Inland Marine Policy
Date Pictures sent to Inland Marine Policy Issuer
Disposition Date
Date Deleted from Inland Marine Policy
Buyer's Name
Address
City, ST, ZIP
DL#/HCP#

Has that "similar thread" thing always been there? If so it's the first I've noticed it  I must be getting old.

Download NM Collector Software - JE Edition
After 30 days the software converts to the free version which has fewer features. Just under the "A Note regarding your Privacy and How to Protect it." tells you what you lose.

or pm me if you can handle a 6 mb download and are slightly computer savvy.

I'm using this; I bought the full version. It's OK, sometimes can be a little confusing especially if you are running it on a home network & want to be able to access from multiple computers but it was the best I could find. I've toyed multiple time with trying to build an Access database but I'm not good enough to get one running correctly. I think Excel might be as good as anything else.

is there a good notebook,or something close that can be used other than a computer,if so where can one be had ,thanks

gun inventory

I have acquired the NRA Firearms Record Book. The leather binder is rich soft to record you acquisition and disposition of your firearms. The 80 pages are parchment, a solid brass replica bullet clasp to ensure secure containment of the records. Also, a black satan bookmark ribbon is a permanent part of the book. There is also a space for a picture of the gun and disposition section at the bottom of the page. There are over 250 pages in the book. It is very attractive and will take care of your inventory and them some. It sells for $49.95 and is available at the NRA store on line. I number each page and developed a number log on the inside of the cover that matches the page number of the book. It is helpful when you are looking for your specific gun. It is a small investment but worth the price for a book that you can pass on to future generations.

It looks like a really excellent way to keep track of your guns. I would highly recommend keeping it off site somewhere. If anything should happen to your guns, i.e. theft or fire, then you don't want that same thing happening to this record. So, keeping it in a safe deposit box is a good idea.

I just downloaded Gun Safe free to try it out. Not too bad, but of course there's a limit on how much you can enter. I'll keep messing with it. If I like it, I'll pop for the full version...

Matt
