Specifically in the car.

Do you use one? Do you like it?

I pocket carry much of the time which means getting to my gun would be slow.

A gun magnet is appealing but I hesitate because I don't know if I can put my gun in and out of my pocket surreptitiously.

I don't need the attention.

I've never heard one of the name trainers promote a car magnet for a gun. One of the most common COMPLAINTS is if you're in an accident the gun's going to go flying. If the magnet is strong enough to hold the gun securely then it's probably too strong for you to get the gun off of it quickly.

I've worked a lot of accident scenes, and I've never had a problem securing someones weapon and giving it back to either them, or a family member they approve of.

Magnet "catches" for firearms work on the idea of sliding the weapon off the magnet, so it would certainly get loose if there was an impact. Putting one in your car might be a nice way to have a secondary means of storage for times when you have a weapon holstered in a manner which prevents you from drawing inside your vehicle.
