I have read the earlier Centurion by Liberty Safes. Scuffed, chipped a little... and they could not find the key or combination. Plus this will be a no-longer-carrried model. Huuum! I say to myself. They have a price of $789.99 on it. I went from clerk who went up to store manager and in the end found out that I may have the unit at $480.00 plus $76 or $79 delivered curbside. I also get to inspect the safe once the key arrives next Monday. That gives me some time to do I little research.

I also purchased a G.E.Choice Alert Control Center Started Kit , a wireless motion sensor and second G.E. Motion Sensing Alarm. Yes, I recognize the limitations of theses off the shelf devices. They are tertiary at best.

Checking out the woman ringing me out looked at the motion sensors and whispered to me that last week a neighbor in her block (and I live about 10 blocks away) had a home invasion at 4:00 am. The BG taped across the glass multiple times before breaking in. Her comment was that Xmas is coming and desperate BGs will be working overtime.

Any comments on the Liberty Centurion? My dream safe would be the FatBoy Jr. also by Liberty. At present I have left, after a few sales, 14 handguns and a Mavereck 88 shotgun. I would also keep in the larger safe one camera and a box of family photos.

Joe

Edit: When I looked this 24 gun safe up it had bad ratings...a locker, a flower box etc. I doubt it is one of their American made line of safes.

Joe,

If it were me, and I walked the very same road that you are walking now in 2012, I'd cancel my order at Lowe's. Then, I'd go to this website:

Liberty Safe Lincoln Series - #1 Rated Safe in America!

Pick out a really good gun safe, twice the size that you need today, and locate the nearest Liberty dealer who will deliver it for you and set it up. Mine charged me $200.00 and it was worth every penny.

They have a lifetime warranty, have great customer service, and are made in the U.S.A. It just doesn't get any better......

don't buy the size you need now, buy what you will need in the future.
