I went to the Springdale, AR gun show today and I went to my favorite dealers table and he had a couple that I just couldn't leave the show without. The first one I spotted was a Model 17-4 with 6 inch barrel in about 97% condition and shot very little. The gun came with magna grips that I changed to targets after cleaning it when I got home. I was very lucky on this revolver because I looked at and then decide to walk around for awhile. I walked about 20 feet and looked back and another guy was looking at that gun so I went back and stood next to him. He walked away and I told the dealer I would take it and bought the gun. A little while later the guy that looked at the gun right before me approached me and pressed me bad to sell him the gun and he offered me $75 over what I paid for it. I said sorry this baby had already joined my family. The revolver was made in 1981.
I walked around the show for a couple of hours and before leaving stopped by the dealer I bought the first gun from and at the other end of the table I spotted a Model 18 and after looking at it I was torn because it did not have a pinned Barrel. After checking it over I realized this gun was also in 97% condition with just a few light handling marks mostly from storage as it's been shot very little so I decided to buy it. It was made in 1982 and is a really nice revolver and I cleaned and put S&W target grips on it.
The two out the door cost me $1100 and I was OK with that based on today’s prices for these 22's.
