Went to the gun show in Greatfalls yesterday.

Interesting findings.

Several 25-35 saddle ring carbines like I got my first deer with. Prices from around $1500 up

As far as S$W were concerned, I discovered my revolver safe is a gold mine. Didn't see one what I thought was a decent deal. A reblued pitted model 29 $850, all the Jets over $1200 even with fair amount of blue loss, no model 28s under $700 including one with a front sight dovetailed into ramp that seller believes is a factory option. OK, then.

Not a single Remington 600 or 660. Lots of nice rifles though. A few Sharps and the like that interest me, but not to the tune of the prices.

Lots of plastic fantastics and AR, Ak style guns.

Couple of nice holster makers from Montana. A bunch of knife sellers and a few makers.

One couple had a new and good product. A deal that mounts to you truck floor board, then a piece with a ball and socket twist locks down to the mount piece. The ball and socket has a tube on top for a muzzle. Tube had a step in size so top portion of tube would hold a shotgun barrel and the bbotttom portion a deceent sized rifle muzzle. the tube had a slot in itt for a sight ramp. Looked like to would work well. Keep muzzle from moving around, ball and socket would allow main part of gun to have the right angle to lay into seat or whatever. Would have got one, but my truck is already setup with something I machined from UHMW to hold 2 rifles in position.

I bought a couple military canvass slings, some Ruger Mini 14 mags, a hand full of P38 can openers to spread around, some 350 Remington Mag ammo which is kind of like hens teeth, some detachable sling connectors. Then at some stand where they were selling mostly fufa a guy had a 50 caliber muzzle loader, side hammer, looked almost brand new, only draw back was a plasticc stock. said $100 for it and a whole bunch of stuff to go witth it bullets, powder measure nipples etc etc. Probably 20# of stuff. Pealed out 5 $20s and that was about it for me.

Had a nice time. Spend some time BSing wwith the guys from the Marine Corpss League. Met a few people. Ran into my sister and BIL who had just got back from Arizona on the plane. Perfect timing as it was her Birthday.

Great Fall MT is the best

Just out of curiosity did you happen to see
Mike Venturino the Gun writer from Handloading
Magazine there?

So this New Product you describe attaches to
a Pickup receiver hitch and allows you to steady
your aim, and sight in a Rifle/Pistol?

Gun Shows are always interesting. More of
a Social Event for me anymore. There are
usually better deals to be found elsewhere.

I too have found out my S&W Revolvers are a
Gold Mine also, but I'll never sell, the kids will
inherit, their gun people.

“C’mon, Henry. Let’s blow this pop stand. I want to get to Great Falls and spend my cut.”

No, the device I spoke of has a piece that mounts to the floor board. Then the ball and socket piece attaches to the piece and it holds the muzzle of a gun secured while you drive

Boy, was I really off on that. So, the
Product actually secures the Rifle for
transportation.

I think though, am on to something for
a quick standing/sitting sighting in of a
Gun.

Thank you for setting me straight.
