Gun Show M39-2 Now with Range Report

My experience with 9mm pistols is that some will do very well with 115 grain FMJ-RN, but most do better with bullets that have longer bearing surface. 115 gr JHP or just about any style of 124-147 grain bullet often give the best accuracy. The original 9x19 Parabellum was designed with a 123 grain conical point bullet. 115 grain bullets were a material savings design of World War II.

I must be blind! I never see any "shooter" 39-2 guns at all.....hope one will show up soon....may need to look harder?

I wasn't really looking for it. Was at a friend's table and noticed it in the case. Looked at it and the price tag said $350. Knowing the he priced things so he had wiggle room to make a buyer feel like he got a better deal, I asked him what was his best price. He said to ask another friend of ours at the next table as it was his. Went and asked him, how much? He responded for you? I said "yes". He said $300, so I handed him the required funds and went on my merry way. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

I need to find some friends like him! My friends all know that if I'm interested in it at that their asking price it's probably too low already. :(

On your "merry way"? I would have been on my ecstatic, euphoric, delighted way. I think I can say without fear of contradiction, "Ya done good... ya done real good there pilgrim!" Congratulations.

As aside to this 39 tale. The gentleman I bought this pistol from passed away two weeks ago from a brain tumor. Makes this pistol a keeper as we were friends for close to 20 years.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. I am sure you will remember him every time you and it go to the range.

I had sort of forgotten about this thread as there were several similar ones in which I was participating back then (about a year ago now). Someone sent me a PM asking about the mags I referred to, as I now surmise, in post #11 and I didn't have an answer for him because it had been so long. Does anyone remember the guy on GB who was selling a bunch of mags about a year or so ago? Since the posts in question were from a year ago, these listings would have been running about Jan-Feb of '21, IIRC.

Sorry AJ. No disrespect or hijack intended. I only mentioned what I did because of a PM someone sent me, apparently inspired by rereading the whole thread and noticing my earlier post. My sympathy for your loss.
