I went to the GS today and here are a few prices. Pretty slim pickin's, but I thought just maybe someone in SW MI may want to travel to see the M58. Here are a few random prices on S&Ws:

M10-5 w/5" barrel
$450 -- A little steep for me, but looked pretty nice if you want one of these. Orginal stocks, IIRC.

Victory Model w/5" barrel
$395 -- Butt swivel and all. Looked good to me but I did not handle it. I'm assuming .38 S&W.

M28-2
$650 -- W/box and original stocks, 4" barrel, looked like new. Too high, I thought.

M58-?
$750 -- The guy was busy so I did not ask to handle it. Besides, it's nickel and I am a seeker of the blue. Decked out in Footballs, it looked really good through the looking glass.

Also saw a bunch of M1 Carbines for down to earth prices, but that's another Forum... :D

There were a couple of M19s & at least one P&R M66 for decent prices (which I can't remember.) Also at least one 6" M586, but I did not notice the price on that one so nothing to forget... :D

It was kinda fun but they did not have much to tempt me today.

That's really nice. I saw your thread about the Collinsville show. I may have been to that one a few times myself years ago when I lived in the St. Louis area.

Maybe I should have bought that nickel M58 when I had the chance. If nothing else, I may have been able to trade it for a blued M58.

I would have been sorely tempted to take that nickel M58. I have a blued one, and two nickel M57s, and a nickel 58 would complete the set.

Gotta have a 657 to continue the questand complete the set:).

I probably would have pulled the plastic out for that one. Don't have a nickel 58:(.

Thanks for the responses, guys.

Like I said, I usually ignore nickeled guns, so I thought I would start this thread on the chance that someone would be interested in the M58.

Now I may need to rethink my "no nickel" stance. From what I have seen, the price wasn't too bad... I should have at least found out if it was an "S" or an "N" s/n.

If anyone is interested, that same dealer will be at the GR show December 18th/19th and I can get contact info at that time. He has had that 58 for sale for at least a year now and IIRC the price has been recently reduced.
