Yee-Howdy, lots of folks with lots of money. Khalid had 2 dozen people filling out 4473's for the 3 hours we were there. Not as much walk in action as Lakeland but I made offers on a 24-3 and a nice nickel flatlatch chief spl. I'd have paid the $350 except the hammer spur was partially ground off. My son wanted a cheap pocket knife and that was the place to get one. I passed on a 629-1 with scope rings and perfect FG combats for $600. I was going to sell off the grips but I felt no love so it's still there. Black rifle prices were better than usual with the M4 SW clone @1149+ tax. Almost had to have that one. Ammo was also plentiful and $26/50rds Fed.AE .45acp wasn't that bad. One old boy took out a hand truck full and came back for a second load. Best part of the day was lunch at Bubbalou's BBQ on the way home. Still good eats and my shirt smells of hardwood smoke. Joe

Thanks for the report, but I'd like a little more detail-
Was it crazy stupid wait 30 minutes in line trudge shoulder-to-shoulder sheeple can't move can't breathe packed?
Or does it seem like maybe the craze has stabilized a bit and it was just "busy"?

Thanks.
And agreed on Bubbalou's, but Uncle Jones' Nuttin' Mo Betta is betta

Would you fellows be interested in a Orlando Branch S&W Forum coffee and donut meeting some day? I think it would be fun to meet who I have been talking to all this time.

Sure give it a shot. I'll bring along a box of Diamondbacks to drool over.

Yes, the wait was 30 mins. We got there @ 10 and it took 15 mins just to get to the shade point. Shoulder to shoulder, and that 2-step-stop just murder on the thigh muscles. We had to stand and wait for crowd to thin to look at wares on many of the tables.
I'd enjoy a meet-up, (just not at the coronary bypass trailers at the show). Joe

Dick, I'm sure folks would be happy just to have your company. Next Orlando show is July 4-5, somebody come up with an idea.
I did forget to complain about the "camera poles" over a few of the dealer's tables. I was pissed. My son noticed them, about 20' up. I'm like a deer at the shows, I never look up. I mean those images go where? And what is recorded? I thought picture taking was not allowed, but there were 360 panoramic setups and I didn't like it one bit. Joe

I just got back from St. Augustine. The wife and I went up for the day to meet some family from out of state. Had a nice day, anyway I am sending an email to the four of you and lets see if we can put this secret meeting together.

I was there on Sat........saw no bargain priced S&W's, and wondered on several occasions why am I here, as I stumbled around all of the fat folks, and the goofs determined to walk against the traffic pattern or are determined to impersonate a traffic barricade.

That said, I was happy to find that Georgia Arms had Rem 7 and 1/2 small rifle BR primers for $30.00/1K. Another table was selling the same primers for $45.00/1K........Gee, I wonder where they got them!

You really have to be patient to tolerate the crowds that are now flooding these local gun shows. I was tempted to get mouthy with the guy at the ATF table and show him my score in primers, but I was simply pooped and determined to exit the premises to avoid the maddening crowd!

Guys and Gals in O-town,
The Denver/FT. Collins/Greeley/Golden and Wheatland, WY guys hold a get together about once a month in the summer, and as we can manage in the winter.
I drive the farthest at 1 3/4 hours and the other guys from 30 minutes to an hour. We meet at Cracker Barrel for breakfast/brunch, drink copious amounts of coffee. Then we adjourn to the parking lot for show and tell. And since we are mainly retired LEOs and this is gun country we don't get any strange looks as the hardware coues out of the vehicles. Not sure that would work on I-Drive, but we have a ball here.
Lots of good friends with a common interest.

Not a fat guy........a older gentleman that looked like the guy that would be giving out the orders to seize the weapons from the S&W forum members in his jurisdiction.......Ouch!

This is pretty much what we are trying to plan. Four out of the five have responded and we are still waiting for info on when diamondback68 is available. We think it sounds like a good time and may be something other members around the country would be interested in doing in their respective areas.
