Went to the local gun show yesterday and figured I'd give em 8 bucks and see whats up. Same ole dealers and high mark up. Saw a 28-2 for 1K wow!..spotted this gentleman carrying a smith case and had to see what he had. This is a model 29-8 Mountain gun in 44 mag. All the goodies...Mfg according to test bullet is 2005-2006. I had a 6904 with me for trade and he was interested. After some haggling, we both knew this was going down. The 29 is outstanding. I realy like the ole school tapered barrel and the high polish finish. trigger action is so smooth I thought it might be reworked. He said it came that way and was fired very little. Il's don't bother me, and this baby is sweet!

I've said many times don't even bother looking what's on the tables at a gun show. The deals if there are any are with the guys walking around. Glad you didn't give up like so many guys. I think some just like to complain.

I disagree with the sentiment. I do gun shows as a private collector and what I have for sale is generaly priced slightly above wholesale. I don't have a lot of trouble selling and trading at shows.
I know I'm in the minority and the "dealers" are usually nosing around my tables during setup to see If I've got anything underpriced.
For those of you too young to know this that's the way gun shows used to operate with the bulk of the displayers being just collectors like me.
Gun shows IMO have steadily gone down hill since taken being over by dealers.

Cool looking retro-gun. I'd swap that out of place fiber-optic for a gold-bead front, and call it a day.

I agree with this!!! Our local show has gone down hill big time. The place is pretty full, but there are hardly (rarely) any good revolvers that are not priced through the roof. More junk in the place than anything. (But you never know when.....) I always watch and listen to show walkers if I hope to find something. Any more, I come home with something little, and that's it. I still like going for something to do. Bob
I ALMOST FORGOT, that is 1 fine gun picked up at the show!!!

As stated, there are some dealers that are reasonable or maybe have something that they missed as far as a rarity or collectible.
Then there is always the grips and hard to find parts.

i have a 29-8 MG and love it. shoots great. if you're like me you'll find those wood grips bite a bit. mine came with factory wood and rubber hogues and the hogues make it a much more comfortable gun. my only complaint is that after several cylinders, the front site pin starts to back out. i just push it back with my thumb and keep on shooting. great gun, enjoy.

The old gun shows were great. that is until the dealers took over. don't get me wrong, we do need them there. But you are right about working with the guys walking around with something to sell! that is where you will find a deal!!!
