Not sure what everyone else does when the safe is full...but... I found this flat file that would normally be used for storing maps. Works great for most guns. I don't really have room for another safe and the building is pretty secure so this five draw cabinet works pretty good. Anyone else use these?

I've looked at files like that but wanted to find something that would fit in my safe. They never had the right dimensions so I built something similar. I would like to have used metal to minimize bulk but wooden drawers are something I can do on my own.

The flat drawing files are a great idea for storage. I have never thought of that.

The wood drawers in the safe are just plain cool.

Be careful about what you lay your guns on. Dry cloth can wick away protectants and before you know it, you've got rust. I once put handguns in a top dresser drawer, and I used a folded Confederate flag to lay them on. One day I checked on them and there was the beginnings of rust on my 25-2 and my K22. Luckily, it hadn't gone through the blueing or pitted yet.

I agree with a previous post....I sure don't have too many guns after seeing this! I'm still an amateur.

Hey TomK, have you forgotten where you are? Couldn't you have opened a drawer full of Smiths, instead of one with all that off brand stuff?
Nice drawers.(I've never told a man that before.)

Naturally all the Smiths are top drawer :D, A through I (with some spillover into the other safe and some of the other drawers.) But I wanted to pull out one of the lower drawers so that you could see down into it.

Watch it you two, you're liable to get dinged.
