Gun you HATE to shoot!!!

M67 (not the S&W version)...no recoil, but the concussion---:eek::eek:

My most memorable one was a Springfield youth 20ga single shot dad bought me when I was about 10. I could shoot Mom's 16ga Lefever all day long, but about 3-4 rounds out of that 20ga was enough.

I had (briefly) a 357 Magnum Ruger LCR with boot grips. Wow ..... painful.

Once shot a friends 480 Super Redhawk with some hot loads he'd invented at home. That was not fun either.

I'm not into the hate word, but I know what you mean. I'm surprised the 340PD hasn't received more acclaim in this area. It's tolerable with 125 gr magnums, and 145 gr Silvertips are pushing it, but 158s crowd the "hate" thing beyond the limit. Let's just call it intolerable. :D I think ditto for the 329PD, and any of the X-frame models, with full-charge loads.

Any pistol that stings or pinches my trigger finger (or pinches the web of my hand) gets my intense dislike, and it will either get fixed or disposed of. Most Glocks do that, as do many of the micro .380s and 9mms. The Ruger LCP comes to mind.

And finally, I have a Model 70 .458 that I have issues with. Some days I can shoot it as much as I care to, and other days three rounds is the "tolerable" limit.

One day at the range, a shooter next to me was shooting a 7" Raging Bull in .454 Casull..

He handed it to me and I touched off 1 round.

It smacked me in the palm, that was enough, I had no desire to fire ANY more.

I don't think that I would ever bother to keep a firearm that I "HATE" to shoot, unless it was some sort of heirloom or collector's piece.

That being said, most of my firearms aren't particularly pleasant to shoot, at least not in the traditional sense, but being something of a recoil junky and with most of my firearms having been selected for self-defense rather than recreation, I enjoy shooting them regardless.

Ironically, my favorite firearm just so happens to be the least pleasant to shoot, the Walther PPK/S in .380 ACP. I love it because it's an extremely attractive firearm, but the recoil on it is absolutely insane. It's honestly the worst recoiling handgun I own, and that's saying something considering that I own a Taurus Judge Magnum as well as a Mossberg 590 Shockwave!
I thought the Ruger LCP would be worse considering that it weighs less than half what the PPK/S weighs, but no, it's actually more pleasant to shoot. No wonder why all the new .380 ACP pistols use locked breach rather than straight blowback, the design just transfers so much energy back into the shooter's hand. Still, I love it, it's beautiful, reliable, built like a tank, and extremely accurate in spite of having a heavy DA Trigger and painful, flinch-inducing recoil. Mine is actually one of the S&W models with the extended beavertail to prevent slide bite, yet it has still left my hands bloodied because it just keeps slamming into my thumb's knuckle under recoil until the skin splits.

Never liked shooting a Browning Baby .25 pistol I once had. I'd prefer to have a go 'round with my Smith & Wesson Model 29. The Browning .25 is simply too small for me to grasp.

I don't hate shooting it but, I don't get in a big hurry to check the zero on my Remington 870 12ga shooting slugs.

I don't hate shooting it but very much not my favorite is my 380 PPK's.
No matter how hard I try it will cut my web every time I run it.

If I don't like them I don't own them. Decided a long time ago I prefer handguns with steel frames. Been 25 years or more since I last fired a Glock.
Hard kicking handguns ? Reloading lets you shoot more pleasant loads.

Model 59 S&W. Ill fitting, clunky, double stack, and 9mm.
Happily traded for a Colt Series 70. Forty years before I touched another 9. A Walther P4 that I do like.

I don't like shooting 442/642 types. I end up too high on the back strap and the corner digs into my bony little hand. Sold it.

Then I ended up with another. Didn't learn the first time. No more of this style for me.
The hump back 638 will be the next air weight. I can get higher without damage to my hand.

Guns You Hate To Shoot

The "Baby" Browning .25acp was my first "Backup" (1962). I carried it in my handcuff pouch. Also a extra handcuff key in my boot

As others have said hate is too strong. I may jeopardize my man card but I'll admit I don't like shooting the AR-15. I bought a Ruger Mini 30 to keep in the closet, my shooting buddies are constantly reminding me "wrong caliber, wrong platform".
I have a very good friend who seeks out punishing guns to shoot. He had me find him a 10 gauge shotgun recently and he brings the S&W .500 out all the time. We finally settled on each of us having a long barreled model 57, that's plenty big enough for me.

Don't remember which one it was, either a 320 Sig or Kimber Ultra Carry II. ejected at my face & head, not fun. Both have since gone away.

I'm kind of chuckling at a couple of you saying 12 ga slugs. The very first time I ever shot a shotgun was a Winchester 1300 12 ga with deer slugs. Stopped 2 deer dead in their tracks with 3 shots. Recoil? what recoil?
