Gun you HATE to shoot!!!

I've never hated a gun, but I've had a few strong words with a few. One that comes to mind was a Ruger No. 1 in 300 Weatherby. It kicked like a seriously perturbed mule. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it - from inside. Traded it to a buddy for a model 70 300 Win Mag. Yes, he's still a buddy, but he got rid of the No.1

Colt Mark V Lawman snub. The grip on this one hugs the grip frame which differs from the Mark III design. Grip feels great in the hand. And then you shoot it... Extremely painful. In fact, I re-injured the web of my shooting hand where I had surgery years ago to remove fibroma and neuroma incurred shooting my 29 with wood Magna grips. Sold that Lawman right away!

P.S. Honorable Mention: Any straight-stocked lever action carbine in .44 Mag. I fired both the Marlin carbine and the Japanese mfgd copy of the Browning 92 in .44M and wish I hadn't.

-Anything with a gritty, creepy, stagey, inconsistent, or overly-heavy trigger pull.
-Anything with poorly designed ergonomics. ie: sharp edge grip frame, bad recoil management, inadequate sights, etc.

Here is the snubby 38 special that I HATE to shoot!!!

Several years ago, my wife bought this revolver for herself because it "fits my hand, is so light and pretty." (Should tell you something when the manufacturer ports the barrel of a 38 snub.)

Well to quote Forrest Gump, "Pretty is as pretty does."

I warned my wife about this revolver being too light, but she still wanted it...until she shot it. Two shots of standard velocity 38 Special cartridges and she handed "the beast" back to me. "Honey, it hurts to shoot this gun." I finished off the last three rounds and I must say, it BITES!! The gun has never been shot since.

Thanks for looking at the most unpleasant shooting handgun I've ever shot.

God bless,
Birdgun

Those stocks look as slick as (shameful theft of a phrase incoming) greased owl potty. :(

Taurus makes or made a highly effective rubber grip for their compact revolvers; it may make this one tolerable.

Nothing I use regularly qualifies as a hate item, but the memory of one full house .458 out of a Ruger No. 1 lingers still.

One of those tiny tip up barrel Beretta automatics. I had one in 22 SHORT! and I couldn't fire it without bleeding. The slide would invariably slice the web of my hand if I didn't wear a glove. Most embarrassing!

I do not own any firearms that I hate to shoot. I once tried out a Ruger Blackhawk, 44 Magnum, 4 5/8" barrel. When it recoiled, it would roll in my hand and the frame cut into the web between my thumb and index finger. Decided right then and there that I would not own one.

My 340PD packs a wallop, even w/standard pressure .38, but still gets shot regularly to keep my skill level up.

I don't have any that I hate or dislike shooting including my 642 (I generally limit it to 50 rounds per session). I'll freely admit to being a recoil wimp. My accuracy goes way down with 44 Mag level recoil. I've owned three and they all went down the road. I stick with .22, .38, .357, 9mm, .40, and .45 ACP.

As you may guess, I'll never pop a cap on a .500. I admire those who can accurately shoot the big boys.

I have had a few guns that were unpleasant to shoot, mainly small concealed carry pieces. If I can't shoot it well for whatever reason it's going away unless I can fix the issue. I had a couple of the early Charter Arms 38's with the tiny factory grips. Miserable to shoot, a pair of Pachmyers made a huge difference (would still have them but financial needs a few years ago sent them and several others out the door). A proper fitting handle can make a huge difference.

I don't have any pistols I hate to shoot, although I am a little reluctant to shoot that .454 Casull. That would require a bear to have already chewed off one limb, or an amorous Sasquatch with a lonely look on his (or hers) face.

With a rifle, undoubtedly that honor goes to the Egyptian Hakim. That is the loudest *** I have ever handled.

I hated shooting my Kel Tec PF9 because it was the biggest jammomatic *** I've ever owned. Couldn't make it through a magazine without a malfunction. Sold it off and never looked back.

None that I hate. Some are less pleasant to shoot than others. Examples are KelTec PF9 (which has been totally reliable), any of my three Makarovs, KelTec P3AT. Mosin Nagant much improved with a slip-on Limbsaver.

At my age with some arthritis in my hands, I don't shoot my Model 29 anymore.

The only guns that I HATE to shoot are guns that do not function properly and I do not have any of those. When I discover one I either fix it or get rid of it

I do not think that I own a gun that I HATE to shoot.

While some of the lightweight personal defense firearms that I own are not fun or comfortable to shoot, I do not HATE them.

I had a few guns I did not like just short of hate maybe. But I did enjoy shooting them all. As for guns that bites the person or hand that feeds it. My Contender with 45-70 barrel comes to mind I learned how to hold it when I first got it so it does not inflict enough pain to slow me down shooting it. But everybody that has ever tried it shoots it once and will not allow it to bite them again. I do have a repo Sharps rifle in 45-120 that punishes its meal ticket harder than any gun I have ever shot. Despite that I will be out this spring trying to see if I can get hits out too and including 1 mile with it.

I've had 2, first was a S&W model 37 Airweight ,38 nasty little bugger , got rid of it. The other is a KelTec 3AT (.380 acp), hard to shoot, hurts my hand after 1 mag. Still have it.

Never found one that I hated to shoot. Some I didn't care for, or want to shoot again. Haven't said no to shooting any gun yet, but if the brain damage gets repaired by old age maybeeee.
