GunBroker Price Madness

( I did not read most of the posts after the first few ) but wanted to say this.... I have watched several auctions closely over and over again and have noticed some items supposedly sell after a few bids but then reappear for sale again and again sometimes by the same seller and sometimes not. IMO thus attempting to raise the bar and create a fake market , however some sales seem fair and I have actually purchased there. But I watch very closely and have developed my own system to watch for misrepresentations and have left many items alone because of these things.
Just my opinion
Have a good day

Auction prices tend to feed on a certain frenzy and competition. I have never successfully bid on GB because I refuse to get sucked into the frenzy. Usually, I have found what I wanted at a price I was willing to pay.

Not knocking GB. The psychology of any auction is similar whether in person at the county fair grounds or online.

Everyone wants hi-res pics. I think a lot of people skip over the ones with not so great photos. I look at them really close and then ask questions; get additional photos if possible. It might be a little risky, but I've made out pretty well this way.

Complete agreement with this. There are people who know how to take great pictures of guns (many are forum members here), but your average GB seller does not. In the beginning I used to be worried about people trying to make a gun look better in the photos than it was, but after years of experience, I've come to the conclusion that most people simply don't have the skill; quite the opposite, especially older collectibles with somewhat challenged finishes (which I tend to be after) easily look much more hideous with a bit of misapplied artificial lighting or flash photography, and most pawnshops and such who just need to move stuff don't bother with careful set-ups. In the age of cell phone pictures, many people simply can't take a good one. I've gambled on that successfully quite often.

I have had far fewer problems on Gunbroker (zero) vs some of the the people of this sight. I think I prefer selling there.

At least on on Gunbroker no one has yet to say "well I like gun enough to keep it, but only if you take another couple hundred bucks off the price....." Gunbroker does not not have the new rule of the day flash report and does not appear to have double stnadards

RussellD, I APPRECIATE YOUR COURAGE AND CANDOR……...

I just attended a local gun show this past weekend. Just a few older S&W's and the way they were priced, GB doesn't seem so bad.
