Guns for "The mud, the blood and the beer"

Colt Combat Commander, satin nickle in 45, 4" Colt Python, SW 29-2 nickle 6".

The 29 was the only one I pulled on duty. The guy driving the car stopped, I had jumped in the lane before he got there, the 44 Mag was leveled at his eyes. The other deputies couldn't believe he stopped. I was young and agile, we had played chicken in dodge the mad cow or bull when kids, take one step towards them and jump past their shoulder just as they get there. That was plan B, the guy stopped so I did not have to use Plan A. He told us that the closer he got to me the bigger the hole looked in the bbl and he saw the look on my face. By stopping he did not escape nor cause me any injuries or send him to the big sleep.

For a long time I had a Win M-12 US Gov riot, like new. I carried it on a few raids but never had to use it.

Long ago and somewhat far away...
A model 10 and a Star M .38 Super.
Given the choice, neither. At the time, it was all that was available.
Later, M1 carbine.

Well, I've never been in the service, and I've never been in law enforcement, but I was for a couple of years, an armed security guard for both Burns and Pinkerton's...so maybe those count?

Burns asked me if I had ever fired a gun. I told them, honestly that yes I had, I'd hunted most of my life. They handed me a Sam Brown Belt, a Border Patrol holster, six rounds of RNL ammo, a booklet "You and Your Revolver", and a Colt Official Police 38, with faux pearl grips. I was told, "Don't shoot yourself, or anyone else if you don't have to." I was an armed guard.

Times were different then.

Pinkerton's pretty much the same deal, except it was a S&W Model 10 with Pachmayr grips.

I never even fired either of them. Ever.

I started with a 1911 stateside a Ithaca. in Germany a Remington rand.m-16 was for show in the tank.first duty gun a beretta 92 9mm then a s&w 4006. then a gen3 glock 22 now a gen 4 glock 22.and in between and off the clock mainly a j frame 38spl or a 9mm. oh and lately a colt detective special 38spl

At one time or another, just about all that is listed above.......

Plus, a Remington Model 700 in .458 Winny mag........The recoil is hell, but it'll stop a car........however, the ammo was expensive........

Redhawk in 44 magnum most of my ccw life. Before the RH was offered it was a colt 357 Python.

If the shtf the 308 will come out of area 52.

I've always kept it simple 1978-1995 a Md 49. From '95 to date a Md 649-3 in .357.
