Went to an Outpatient Imaging Clinic today to get a CT scan for my stents. Since my last visit at this particular clinic was more than six months ago, I had to fill out new forms. Many pages of CYA questions. Under previous and current medical conditions was listed GUNS/KNIVES. Wasn't aware that this was a medical condition. Elicited no response from me, just left it blank.

Maybe in the future I will be required to get a doctor's prescription in order to purchase a new knife or gun. Who knew.

Since it was under previous and current medical conditions, maybe the intent is to ask if you have ever been treated for gun or knife wounds?

(Sounds like the kind of question Doc on Gunsmoke would not bother to ask, though, as the answer would invariably be, “Well, duh!”):)

Knives?????

Does anyone you know NOT have a knife? Are they talking about any kind, including kitchen or table knives?

Tell them at your house you all gather round the kitchen table and rip raw meat off the bones of a butchered cow with your teeth, so great is your fear that a knife might just go off by itself. :D

Well done Master Chief--id'a left it blank-lied or asked: "What's a gun/knife?" :D

I believe the gun questions are suicide/mental health CYA. I have a friend who is a retired physician and he tells a good story of a terminal patient's failed suicide attempt with a handgun. The story ends with... Dr. B... it was the loudest thing I ever heard.
