Guns you've always wanted but never obtained.

So many of you have the same wants as some I did not list, M-21 and had a chance to buy one for $600 but the stock had been cut off and a monte carlo added. What was I thinking, I'm a stock maker guy.

Luger Po8, Hi power in 9mm, a M-78 but not sure of the caliber.

It seems Rburg and I lived a similar life. I had many of the guns some of you want but they did not lock into my heart and away they went. Pythons, Parkers, AH Philadelphia Fox, Westly richards SxS, Cogswell and Harrison .375 H&H, Savage M-00, Colt DA's and SAA's and to many Win M-12's, should have kept the matched pair of Skeet, SK1 and SK2 with factory ribs. Both were 99.99% original. Then I lost all in the big D and recovered, I also had a bunch of WBY's German made, Browning Sarfaris, Colt National Matches from 1959 and 1966 and some others. After I sold all I loved to float the lawyer in a child custody battle guns later did not hold the same personal value to me.

I've let 2 Win pre 64 M-70's in .375 H&H get away. wish I'd kept the 2nd one.

My wish for all of you is to find some on your list.

Like TTSH said, retirement induced poverty has control of my buying habits.

Maybe someone reading this has a spare of what you want, trades? PM's to each other might fill many dreams.

Oh, I know what this is for me...

A High-Standard Olympic Model 102 (.22 Short) Space Gun, with the 10" barrel. Let's make it close to new-in-box, with all the factory accessories. Yes, I'll take a couple of extra mags with it too.

The real pain with this is that they are out there, but I'd have to sell several guns in my existing inventory to pay for it. Who knows, maybe I'll do it in the future.

Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all!

What's the maximum post length? ;)

The short version, i.e. within the realm of reality for me...

S&W 640 no-dash (came close a few times, but alas, no luck :( )
S&W 649 DAO
Ruger SP101 (esp. the DAO 2.25" .357 Magnum...if only the Wiley Clapp model were available in DAO it'd be pretty close to perfect)
S&W 2" 12-4 RB (ok...maybe this one's not as much of a possibility as the others)
Colt Detective Special
Sig P239 DAK (someday! someday!)
Ruger LCP (may be my next gun, assuming I can save up some $$ without the sky falling again)
.357 Magnum lever-action rifle
AR15 (I think a 9mm version would suit me quite well)
HD shotgun (I've shot a 870, but I'm leaning towards a semi-auto for this role)
Coach gun (short-barrel SxS shotgun)

Maybe a little outside the realm of reality, but I always wanted to get at least one of each variation of the NY1 NYPD revolvers.

Only one I can think of - a Swenson .45.

I'd have been very happy with a Pachmayr "Combat Special," or even a Jim Hoag .45. Always short on dough at that time in my life (early- to mid-70s) and so never got any of them. :(

The easy version for me would be: Everything that I don't already have.

I'm almost serious about that. I have found very few things that go bang! that I wouldn't like to have. Just tonight I bought a CZ 75 on GunBroker. Why? Well, I've read about them ever since Jeff Cooper said that although nothing compares with a 1911, he just might, sorta, kinda, use one of these in a real pinch. He liked that it could be cocked and locked, if I remember correctly. I just follow my nose, mainly. I know I would like some of the above listed items, such as a Registered Magnum, 3 1/2" bbl, set up like Patton's!!!

Best Regards, Les

Guns

Like rburg I have had most of the guns that I lusted after to include Lugers (Navy, arty, commer, standard army, etc;), Broomhandels, Winchesters 1895, 1894, 1892, etc., Colt 45 autos, Hyme .375 H&H and 30-06 SR20, Tikki 25-06/ 30-06, Sako 243, Rem 7mm Mag, and too many to list. All the S&W n Frames except RMs.
My wish list:
Triple Lock 44-40
RM 357 mag
MP40 9mm SMG
M14

So many, but I'm such a pragmatist that I can only own guns that have a purpose. I'd love a USGI M1911A1, a Winchester Model 70 Alaskan in .338 Win Mag, A CZ 550 FS in .308, a Ruger Blackhawk in .41 Mag, ad infinitum, ad nauseum...

The only gun I really do want that I don't have would be a WWII era Colt 1911. My wife was very close to her Grandfather when he was alive. When her Grandmother passed we helped her parents clean her Grandparents house so they could sell it. Her Dad found his holster from WWII. He was a Marine Officer for 30 something years. I would like to buy the right gun to fill that holster and give it to her. I think she would get a kick out of that.
