Ive been putting in some longer hours not that im on break and i have projects to complete for both school and for me personally. I have been posting things here and there but i was out in the shop and figured id snap some photos. Something i always forget to do in the progress. But with going to be looking for a job here in a couple of weeks figured i better document something

- First off im trying my hand at freshing up some old diamond grips. these are off a 15-2 i picked up of a forum member. It was a great shooter grade, but had some rust problems in areas, so i figured id give it a nice polish and drop it in the salts. these started off in pretty worn shape, some of the dings just are not going to come out, but alight sanding and re-cut the checkering a touch to freshen everything up. In the photo they are getting the first applications of some thinned out Tru-Oil. Soaking it up nicely.

The 15-2 has been stripped of its old blue and now going through its treatment of Navel Jelly to get rid of all the rust down in the pits. I will then give it the deluxe polish by me and off the salt tanks. I will try and add step by step photos of its progress as well as some of the other items im posting tonight.

Some stock work on a Ruger No1 Stainless i re-barreled into 416 Rigby via a Kreiger Barrel, Safety has been recessed and a new bench made safety made. The stock is my own pattern in a very english style. I almost have it completely headed up, and i started to take some of the machine marks out from the duplicating process. the wood is nice piece of english walnut.

and finally a grip cap out of case color for my "Light Express" Mauser project gun chambered in 9.3x62.

Very nicely done. Has there been any progress on the short butt 1917? Keep up the good work. Mark

1917 is kinda in holding pattern, grip is chopped and completed. I need to make grips. I could put it toward any of my class points and I'm going to put a rib style sight on it. I'll try and post the drawing I worked up for it. Hopefully get into a shop and help service the forum
