Scioto to La Grange (where I believe Mr. Hovarth is located) is only about a three hour drive -- to me not very far for a top-tier revolversmith, but everyone has their own threshold.

All comes down what the OP needs. If it's anything particularly involved, from an action job on up, I'd make the drive. I'm sure Hovarth has plenty of work, but as far as guys working at his level go, he has an excellent reputation for fast turnaround.

And thank you for the abundance of CAPITALIZATION in your post, my hearing's not what it used to be. ;)

Easy gentleman lol, Im needing a smith to take a look at the 642 problem i posted about and some work on a couple other revolvers. I would like to take them to Andy but we are on opposite ends of Ohio.

If you've done the usual Google search and turned up nothing, I suggest checking the regional forums of several gun boards and see if there are recommendations for your area.

Otherwise, FedEx? If Andy's an FFL (which most gunsmiths are), you can legally ship directly to him and he can send your revolvers directly back to you sans going through the cost and hassle of a local FFL.

He will have to overnight AIR ship per FED-X and UPS new Gouge the consumer hand gun shipping rules.

Danny I escaped from Scioto County (Franklin Furnace) a long time ago. And as with anything else if you want quality work you have to come to Columbus.
