Hello,
it seems that your picture corresponds to my box ? same broken part at the right corner... Was it yours before ?
Now it is in Strasbourg, France, the only SWCA member of France :)

danalex, I regret that I only contacted him through the SWCA listing. I have no other address. Mike #283

Check out Vern Eklund's article on these Gutta percha boxes in the S&WCA Journal reprints, Vol 3, page 868. ( Originally printed in Vol 21, No. 3, Fall 1987, of the S&WCA Journal) It will tell all you need to know and more about them. These are called Gutta percha by collectors, however they are actually made from a shellac based thermoplastic still used in dentistry today. (Next time you are enjoying a root canal, be sure your dentist is not melting down a Model 1 case for mold materials ! ) Ed #15

Found this post by our senior senator from California in an old thread about these cases. Thought that you might find it interesting.:D

PS: You might try contacting the man who knows everything about SWCA and its members, Mike Speers. If he can't give out the information, he may be willing to contact Vern with your contact info.
