YES! What else do you want to know? :~) If its truly an original gun in original config its a great price. Do you know what to look for as far as rework? refinish? Its still worth that price as long as its in time and shoots and looks decent. If its super clean and unmodded, never refinished its a truly great price! Where are the pics? Does the inside of the right grip have a serial number that matches the rest of the gun? The rest of the serial numbers on the other parts, etc.....Come on man, we need more details! :~)

I gather that those are more commonly found (especially in original condition) in Canada, so they may not command as much as they would here in the US. Still, it sounds like a great deal to me. We're talking an N-Frame for under $400! My vote is "BUY IT!"

I have seen one similar to what you describe priced at $859 in a gun store. It has been sitting for a while. My guess is that it would sell quickly for $700.

Stateside, many of them were converted to fire the more commonly available .45 Colt or .45 ACP, not to mention removing the butt swivel, selling the original stocks, or even chopping the barrel. So it is not as easy to find one original and unaltered.

Just saw the pictures you added. That looks to be in superior condition. Many of these were used in WWI and were subjected to extremely harsh conditions, and show it.

Does it have the hole for the butt swivel? IE, did it have one that was removed, or did it never have one?

Yours may have been one that was sold to a civilian or the NWMP. If it did see service in the Great War, it survived in remarkable condition.

BTW, haven't you heard that smoking is bad for your health?

Well i bought it and yes it has the butt swivel hole but no landyard ring. I should have it in 10 days or so. Its coming out of eastern Canada. The only army mark it has is a crown with the number 30 on the end of the butt next to the serial number.Does anybody know where i can get a landyard ring for this gun. Thanks Rick..

They're not too hard to find. You need a CASE COLORED one, NOT blue.
Great gun, great buy!

Numrich Gun Parts Co. has them for the 1917 & Victory Model so they should have one that will work on yours.I have gotten several for Victorys and they look like the real thing & fit great. papabyrd

YOU GOT A SUPER DEAL!!! Hornady makes brass or you could thin the rims of .45 Colt from the front and cut the brass down to the proper size to chamber in an unaltered gun. Use .454" sized 250 grain lead bullets from Remington and you are in business. Fiocchi makes loaded ammo, but it should be used to get the cases. Nice find and let me know if you ever want to sell it.

If you don't want to do that yourself you can order converted .45 Colt brass from Buffalo Brass.

You can buy 0.455 Mk II from Graf's. These are Hornady cases and the true HB 265 grain bullet. Graf's also sell the brass. Use a 255 grain lead FN (the 45 LC head) and buy the 0.455 dies from Lee. I have had excellent results with this combination in the same revolver and also in an uncut Webley Mk VI. Load to ~650 fps as that was the factory loading and it probably killed more soldiers than you can imagine in the 90 plus years it (or its earlier brothers) were in use. The Fiocchi loading is rather "stout" and you do not want to stree the "old girl". Dave_n
