As I told you all I had ordered a "carbine buffer" it was advertised as weighing 3.5 oz's (it actually weighed 4.33) and a NCStar QD 3/4" scope rail. Well after I installed them the other day I boresighted it here at the house off of the side of the neighbors house and got it close enough to go put it on paper. I started at 50 yards wanting to get it close, I was shooting a mixture of Brown Bear, Silver Bear and Tulammo all 55gr FMJ. I took both my old and my new buffer with me to try them out side by side. First I fired 5 rounds of BB with the old buffer then replaced the buffer and fired 5 rounds, I was on the target but was shooting High and to the right. I fired 5 more SB with the old and then 5 with the new. The difference was absolutely amazing how quickly I could get back on target with the heavier buffer. The recoil was noticebly reduced with barrel jump being reduced also. So I left the new one in and started actually sighting the scope. The first target shows me working to get the scope to where I was shooting about 2 mildots high at 50 yards. and then started shooting using the 2nd mildot as my sight reticle. I took the scope off and fired a couple of rounds with my iron sights and then put the scope back on. Fired a few more rounds just to make sure I was close.
I had consumed too much coffee and was having a problem holding it still so I took a little break and moved back to a hundred yards, got my breathing under control and then shot using one mildot above center of the scope as my sight. When I left the 50 yard line I set my turrets to zero and when I got to the hundred I didnt touch them. The second target is a smaller target with the rings 1" apart but the red bullseye is easier to see and concentrate on.
I was very happy with this. The wind was blowing left to right at 18 to 23 mph and I was resting across the hood of my pickup with a Plastic Caldwell NXT front half. I am still happy. So after I got home I remembered that I had some snap-on touch up paint for my big toolbox and decided to "dress up my Sport". I did both sides for when I put in my Ambi Safety!! Truthfully not a clue why I did it but check this out!!!
