Hacked E-mail

Unfortunately I got hit yesterday. As some of you know someone sen Gmail emails to several of my friends here and others I have done business with.
They hacked into my Yahoo Account then hijacked it and my address book.
Then they set up a bogus email account with my Yahoo Address Bok.
Luckily all it cost me was a few phone calls, nobody here got scammed. And nobody else in my address book got taken either.
My #1 son recovered my Yahoo account and we now control it again. I have never used Gmail and am not concerned with that account.
Oddly enough when it happened I was off line and my PC was in the shop with another issue. I anow have the fixed unit and am back online.
I really appreciate all of the folks here that notified the Mods, as they called this AM. Thank you for your concern and assistance.
I have a few things yet to do but hopefully we are back online and in control.

I'm glad to hear that you're back up and running. It was a pleasure speaking with you dear wife this morning.

These cyber-criminals cause a lot of damage and steal a huge amount of money every year. I strongly suggest changing your passwords on financial institutions, your computer, email and forums.

It's also smart to NEVER post you email address online in an ad. Why post that information for all the world to see? We have an excellent PM and email forwarding system on the board, which offers added security.

Glad you were able to recover. Got an email with your name but suspected it was bogus. Deleted without replying and then messaged you on this forum. They used your name and I recognized it but couldn't remember your handle on the forum. Take care.

I got an email from the hacker(really). I sent my ex wife to the address he provided. Air freight to Nigeria was only 50,000 Kobo's.

I am glad you posted here, I respectfully declined your request, my wife would probably suspect me of buying more S&W's.
