Had a problem with my 340 SS today

Pardon me in advance for any improper gun part terminology.

I went to the range today with my 340 SS. It has always run flawlessly. Today, I just wanted to test it for function since I hadn't fired it in a while. I ran a cylinder full of .38+p without a hiccup. Ejected the shells and loaded up some .357 WWB 110. Fired them all without a problem until I went to eject the spent shells. I was able to push the cylinder out but I couldn't push in the ejector rod to eject the shells. It appeared to be jammed. The gorilla in me decided to forceably press in the ejector rod by hitting it against the counter. This worked but it's not like the shells all came out nice and loosely. It was almost as if they had to be forced out.

Now before anyone says anything about the warning about using anything below 124gr, this pistol doesn't have that warning.

Anyone else ever experience this problem before?

im wondering if the chambers might need a good cleaning, just a guess though im not up on that model

Your problem is most certainly firing .38 Specials in the revolver, then loading full load .357 magnums right after without cleaning. .38 Specials will leave a carbon ring right in front of the cast mouths. Then when you fire .357 magnums, the cases will expand against and around the carbon ring creating difficult extraction.

Use a nice brass brush with a GOOD solvent then wipe dry after shooting .38 Specials. I suspect that difficult extraction will be a thing of the past.
